Lisa Schreihart

Lisa is an intellectual property attorney practicing in Maryland and Washington, DC, and a registered patent attorney practicing nationally before the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO). She started her own law firm in May 2025. She advises clients on intellectual property matters, including patent, copyright, and trademark. Her main focus is to help clients obtain, maintain, and defend their high-tech patents. Lisa was a Patent Examiner at the USPTO in business methods with focus on data processing and cryptography. She practiced patent law at major law firms in the DC area, where she grew her patent law expertise and expanded her technology knowledge. She drafts and prosecutes patent applications in automotive, Internet of Things, computer networking, software, semiconductors, consumer electronics, optics, biomedical devices, fintech, blockchain, digital signal processing, cryptography, augmented and virtual reality, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and telecom/5G technology, among others. She supports post-grant patent proceedings, such as inter partes reviews and reexaminations, litigation, and e-discovery. Lisa also has experience in tax law and small business/non-profit business law. 

Before becoming an attorney, Lisa served 16 years as a systems engineer in electronics, avionics, and wireless communications for U.S. military programs. In addition to her engineering and legal experience, she was a program manager/project manager in various industries (supply chain, automotive, industrial electronics, and military avionics). Lisa holds honors bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from Marquette University, an MBA with High Distinction from the University of Iowa, and a JD (magna cum laude) from Northern Kentucky University Salmon P. Chase College of Law.
