About

Laurie Justice McAleenan founded Task Owl, an operations partnership for small business owners and CEOs ready to stop carrying everything alone. As a Virtual Assistant and Accredited Online Business Manager (OBM), Laurie provides operational leadership that helps founders step out of the day-to-day and back into the work only they can do.

Her work is guided by the Clarity-to-Capacity Framework™, a structured approach that first clarifies how a business actually runs, then builds the systems, processes, and support that create real capacity for growth. Through her OBM services, Laurie manages projects and launches, develops SOPs and operating systems, oversees team workflows, sets up and maintains CRM and funnel systems, and keeps a business's moving parts organized and on track. For founders who need hands-on help, she also offers flexible project support as a virtual assistant, including email newsletter creation, document development, and content coordination.

Laurie is CAIVA certified (Certified AI-Integrated Virtual Assistant), trained to use AI responsibly and strategically to improve workflows and streamline repetitive tasks. She is also a Certified Creative Strategist. For clients, this means smarter systems, practical automation, and thoughtfully implemented tools that save time while protecting accuracy, quality, and a strong human touch.

Before founding Task Owl, Laurie built her career across technical, creative, and leadership-focused roles. More than a decade in the aerospace and automotive industries, including eight years with United Space Alliance at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, shaped her deep appreciation for clear systems, reliable processes, and operational consistency. There, she supported engineering teams through internal graphic design, managed engineering operating procedures for accuracy and compliance, and completed AS9100 Lead Auditor training, assisting with internal and external audits.

She holds a BS in Graphic Design and an MFA in Illustration, and brings a thoughtful, systems-oriented, and client-centered approach to every partnership.
