About
Dr. Ashana Williams-Bush, Ph.D., is an author, award-winning community advocate, speaker, Certified Life Coach, Certified Domestic Violence Responder, Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, Remarkable Women featured on MYPHL17 and the Founder and Executive Director of I AM UNIQUE! – A Self Restoration Workshop, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals and families rebuild their lives after trauma, domestic violence, addiction, and crisis.
A survivor of gun violence, domestic violence, childhood trauma, grief, and homelessness, Dr. Ashana has transformed some of the most painful chapters of her life into a purpose centered on healing, empowerment, and service. Her journey is a testament to the strength it takes not only to survive, but to reclaim your voice and choose yourself again.
With a background in criminal justice, psychology, business administration, Christian leadership, and more than 15 years of public service, Dr. Ashana brings both professional experience and lived experience to her work. Her dedication to advocacy and community service has earned her recognition as a PHL17 Remarkable Woman and a Phenomenal Woman Award recipient.
Through her writing, speaking, advocacy, and leadership, Dr. Ashana encourages others to understand that their scars do not have to define the ending of their story. She believes that healing begins when we find the courage to confront what hurt us, break the silence, and reclaim the pieces of ourselves we lost along the way.
Above all, Dr. Ashana is a woman of faith and a mother whose life reflects resilience, restoration, and purpose. Her story is not simply about what she survived—it is about who she became after the bullets stopped.
