About

In November 2016, I was working as a journalist in Colorado when I created Blurred Bylines. My goal with this new website was to build a space for myself to write about the communities and issues I felt were overlooked by mainstream outlets. I began writing articles about the LGBTQ+ community, people of color, and survivors of violent crime with focuses on social justice, personal identity, democracy, and American history.

After some time, I left my job as a newspaper copy editor and pursued SEO, spending the next 6 years at different digital marketing agencies along the West Coast. Throughout my career, I’ve audited more than 1,000 websites (shoutout to that agency life) and moonlighted as an SEO freelancer, working full-time at my agency then coming home to work on my clients’ sites.

In early 2023, I left my marketing job as a senior SEO specialist and began running Blurred Bylines, LLC full-time as its sole owner and operator.

At Blurred Bylines, I perform search engine optimization (SEO) services for bigger purposes than simply boosting traffic. As a SEO professional with 7 years' experience in the industry, I’ve helped organizations of all sizes actually grow their bottom line through organic search – not just send content into the digital abyss with the hopes that someone reads it.

I perform search engine optimization services for businesses, nonprofits, and digital marketing agencies across the country. From law firms to national franchise organizations, dental groups to social justice organizations, I know what it takes to grow long-term visibility, traffic, and conversions online – and I’ve crafted my services to address those KPI’s and support business growth.

In addition to the SEO services I provide, I continue to write original long-form articles at Blurred Bylines that focus on marginalized communities where mainstream coverage can be minimal. These articles typically spotlight individuals who are fighting against systemic oppression or an egregious injustice, survivors of violent crime who have rebuilt their lives after the unthinkable, and forgotten figures in American history.
