About
Parisa Pirooz is the founder of Creshendo, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering refugee women and girls. With a deep understanding of the challenges faced by refugee communities, Parisa established Creshendo to provide specialized programs and support services that facilitate their integration. The name "Creshendo" comes from the word crescendo, defined as the highest point reached in a progressive increase of intensity, which reflects Parisa's vision of empowerment and upliftment of refugee women and girls.
Parisa's dedication to empowering refugee communities was shaped by extensive experience and direct interactions. While working with the United States Government in various refugee camps across the country, she witnessed the challenges and resilience of displaced individuals, which inspired her desire to be a part of the solution. Parisa's direct experience working with refugees locally and overseas from a wide range of countries provided invaluable insights that shaped the establishment of Creshendo. Her academic pursuits, including programs at Harvard Law School and the University of Oxford, further deepened her understanding of immigrant and women's rights, fueling her commitment to creating positive change.
Through Creshendo, Parisa envisions a world where refugee women and girls regain autonomy, advocate for their needs, and work towards self-sufficiency.
