About
Maria Dowd’s mission is to help residential and commercial property owners generate clean renewable energy, savings, and potential passive income with cutting-edge solar systems.
As a catalyst for community empowerment, Maria taps into her journey as a producer of women’s empowerment events, sharing her own personal wake-up calls to inspire families, non-profits, and for-profit enterprises to leverage the massive federal, state and local subsidies, rebates, and tax credits now available – and increase the return on your real estate investments.
Maria discovered her vocation in the 1990s, with the founding and production of African American Women on Tour (AAWOT), an empowerment conference with which she toured the country as well as overseas for 13 years. It garnered the financial backing of many Fortune 500 Corporations, while profoundly touching the lives of over 29,000 women and girls worldwide.
Maria later became a successful network marketing consultant, representing a line of botanical body care products. She trained and mentored a team of over 950 consultants, committed to uplifting their economic well-being and sharpening their leadership skills while simultaneously promoting self-care and healthy living.
Maria has authored three inspirational books: Journey to Empowerment, Journey into My Brother’s Soul, and Journey to a Blissful Life, which was featured in Essence magazine as one of the best books on personal renewal. Maria is also a contributing author of Delayed But Not Denied II and III.
In 2021, Maria joined Sunrun as a Direct-To-Home sales manager, whose local territory includes northern Inglewood, View Park, Windsor Hills, Baldwin Hills, View Heights, Ladera Heights, but spans nationwide, offering families the opportunity to substantially save on their monthly utility bills.
Paramount to her efforts to promote clean, renewable energy is helping property owners understand the value of producing their own electricity on-site, while reducing the reliance on increasingly expensive fossil fuels – much of which is imported from neighboring states.
Maria joined ranks with Current Energy and focuses on helping commercial property owners – especially in historically underserved Los Angeles communities - leverage public funds to help finance capital improvements, as well as clean solar generation and distribution with potential cash rebates and passive income opportunities.
Maria, a native southern Californian, is the mom of two daughters and two grandchildren and cares tremendously about creating a cleaner planet for generations to come.
