About

Devon Fegen-Herdman is the founder of Declutter with Devon, where she helps individuals organize, downsize, and reclaim their spaces with care and respect. A lifelong advocate for the transformative power of minimalism and organization, she combines practical expertise with a deep understanding of the emotional side of decluttering.

Trained as a social worker, Devon earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Case Western Reserve University in 2005 and has spent her career working directly with clients of all ages to navigate life changes. With extensive experience in home visits and person-centered care, she ensures a "social work adjacent" approach to organizing: each client remains in control throughout the decluttering process, bringing a compassionate and client-focused approach to every project.

Devon has years of experience working with seniors, having served as an advanced certified hospice and palliative care social worker at Hospice of the Western Reserve from 2007-2013. She prioritizes the independence and wishes of the seniors she works with, offering adaptable support for those with medical or physical limitations.

Her background also includes managing spaces and materials in high-demand environments. She previously ran a therapeutic art classroom at a mental health day treatment center, where she developed structured systems to maintain order among supplies for up to 90 participants each week. She also co-founded Upcycle Parts Shop, a nonprofit creative reuse center, where she reviewed the storage and disposal practices of many businesses/partners in the Cleveland area to identify usable items that could be pulled out of their waste streams and reused creatively.

A Cleveland native, Devon now lives in Avon, Ohio, with her husband, two children, dog, and cat. She enjoys soccer, reading, making art, and camping with her family.
