Amber Chapman

About

Amber J. Chapman is a Cleveland area Editor, Writer, and Columnist. She has lived (and loved) Cleveland since she and her three children relocated there from New England in 2007.

Her dream of editing and writing was born the day she received her first Smith Corona electric typewriter. She was only 11 years old, but she knew what she wanted to do someday; help people effectively communicate through their writing and tell relatable stories through hers.

In 2011, alongside raising a family, she worked as a freelancer building AJC Copywriting & Editing. Growing up in a business-minded household, where her father and grandfather both built companies, she possesses their entrepreneurial spirit and fortitude. She also shares their passion for helping others. 

Amber believes that everyone has a book in them, or at the very least, a thought, product, or experience that someone else needs to hear about. Through books, articles, magazines, websites, and more, she helps clients' messages reach their target audiences with clarity. She’s even helped tackle some sensitive-natured letters of persuasion, where there’s just one shot to drive the message home - and get it in front of the right people (think legislature or the superintendent of your child’s school). She is on a mission to help others be seen and heard, especially women and children.

Through emotional intelligence and gentle guidance, Amber brings a unique approach to her work as an Editor. She knows a client’s project is important, but the relationship is too. At the end of the day, she’s fulfilled when she has listened to the needs, understood the goal, and the client is happy.

Amber is a proud member of NAWBO, where she feels right at home being part of an invaluable sisterhood. In NAWBO, whether it is her local chapter or across the country, she feels blessed to be surrounded by such compassionate hard working women who make it their mission to help each other up the ladder - in whatever capacity they can and to whatever degree others need.
