Rooted & Ready: A Reflective Nature Walk in El Yunque National Forest
Join a guided nature walk through El Yunque National Forest, the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System. Led by hiking guide Nadine Nicholson, this immersive experience takes you through lush jungle trails teeming with life, cascading waterfalls and panoramic mountain views. As you breathe in the fresh rainforest air and listen to the sounds of coquí frogs and rustling palms, you'll explore the rich biodiversity and cultural heritage of Puerto Rico—and be invited to slow down, ground yourself and reflect.
This walk offers a deeper appreciation of one of the island’s most treasured natural wonders. It is intentionally designed as a way to “land” in Puerto Rico and connect with yourself and your inner wisdom before Leadership Academy begins. This is an opportunity to reconnect with nature, set intentions and gain clarity on what you hope to experience, contribute and take away from the conference.
This pre-conference session is capped at 25 participants. The $25 fee covers roundtrip transportation via passenger van from the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar. Please eat a nutritious lunch before the trip. Wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes—and bring a small backpack with water, sunscreen, a hat, journal, pen and a light snack.
