The NAWBO National Advocacy Committee gives you more of an active role in the policy decisions that NAWBO Headquarters makes on your behalf. From monthly debriefs on Hill meetings to analyzing legislation, the committee is the place to be an even more active participant in advocacy for women business owners. Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Ranking Member Releases Report
Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee Ranking Member Edward Markey (D-MA) released a report titled “The Trump Tariffs: A Small Business Crisis.” Earlier this month, Ranking Member Markey and Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) wrote SBA Administrator Loeffler regarding the tariff impact on small businesses. Small Business Roundtable Meeting with Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries’s Office
Last week, several small business organizations, including NAWBO, met with Leader Jeffries’s office. NAWBO had the opportunity to share a high-level overview of our 2025 Advocacy Agenda, which echoed the thoughts of many other small business representatives. The Small Business Roundtable, including NAWBO, has plans to meet with Speaker Johnson’s office in early May.

As the new Administration is very busy, we shifted to a bimonthly call schedule in advance of our conference in June. You can get all the details on NAWBO's Advocacy strategy on our monthly calls slated for the first Thursday of the month at 11 a.m. PT/1 p.m. CT/2 p.m. ET and the third Tuesday of the month at 9 a.m. PT/11 a.m. CT/12 p.m. ET. Our next two meetings will be on May 1st and May 20th.
